Lacrosse heads are priced at many different points depending on the quality of the head and other factors like if they're new, used, or pre-strung. For a very good quality lacrosse head, the standard price is $99.99 for an unstrung head and around $139.99 for the head to be pre-strung. 

In order for the head to be used, it must be strung. If the head is bought pre-strung from the manufacturer, it will be more expensive upfront than the unstrung head. If the head is bought unstrung you will either have to buy the stringing separately and string it yourself, or pay another company or person to string the head for you. The second option can be more expensive than getting the string pre-strung if you do not know how to string, yourself. Because the price is slightly lower than paying an independent stringer to string the stick for you and the manufacturers hire professional stringers, we recommend that you buy the stick pre-strung.

These high quality heads are made for specific positions needs in mind. Attackers need more narrow heads because they provide the most consistency and support while passing or shooting. Defenders need more rigid and durable heads that don't bend as much because there is more stress put on the head while making checks. Defenders also need more broad heads that make it easier to pick off passes and pick up ground balls, sacrificing some passing consistency for those characteristics. It is important to know that the head you choose should fit your own playstyle and should feel good to you. These are only suggestions based on what the consensus for each position is.
